I am planning to visit my sister during visiting hours today. I have heard good things about this acute psychiatric unit. I just assume that most of the patients here are on 72-hour holds (3 days)... which is enough time to reassess their immediate problem, have their medication adjusted, and make a few friends. I don't know what to say it all depends in the treatment the person receives.
George Stepanoff and the staff at Barbara Arons Pavilion Valley Medical Center have been absolutely wonderful in every way and my sister, Joyce, has greatly improved. It has been a lengthy and tedious process involving several, unfortunate incidents and even a few weeks of jail time due to her severe mental health issues - but things got much better.
