Very short chamber and a lot of work for a "semi fit". I was told that fitting should have been done prior to sending the barrel away to be nitride finished, but it was bought directly from them like this as an "in stock" item.
RecommendedOrdered a semi-fit conversion barrel for a High Power. Great customer service keeping me informed and doublechecking when my ZIP returned a different city (common with MN suburbs). Barrel is well made and surprisingly dropped in and locks up well. (This is a bonus and coming from an automotive field I did not expect it.) Machine work is good. Feed ramp is good.
I bought my first Bar-Sto Barrel in 1982 when I was a young Marine stationed in 29 Palms. I still have the gun and that barrel is still in it. They charged a whole $10.00 more to fit the barrel back then. It is an old ugly 1911 yet shoots like an out of the box Colt Gold Cup. Over the years I have bought a lot more barrels from Bar-Sto and have never had an issue. Thanks
Great barrels, had a custom made for my HK Match many years ago. Still in the gun.
Needed a longer barrel on my 3.8" XDM 40 cal to make it legal for deer in ND. Called and they were great at helping me with what I needed. Great fit and look. But best of all it shoots great!! Keep up the good work. sincerely, Arlen

For a nearly 300 pistol barrel that's 90% done, and under a prestigious name, I expected a much better quality fit and finish. As a CNC machinist, I could tell every little difference and what appears to just be laziness or lower quality standards. I get that they need fitting as I bought a MT barrel, but there's no reason it should've had to have been reamed to chamber a round either.
