LOVE the old Barkeeper. I just learned the owners at Vinovore are taking this place over. I hope they let the existing employees stay. I tried going into Vinavore twice over the years and the workers completely ignored me even when I was the only person in the shop. At Barkeeper? These guys are awesome. They're great shopkeepers and wonderful neighbors. Such a fantastic selection of booze and bar tools/glass sets and you can always get good recommendations to try something new. This isn’t the kind of place you’d come to for bourbon. The staff show little interest even when customers walk in, and they don’t really engage or ask if you need help. Especially for bourbon whiskey, there’s nothing here worth picking up.
The great neighborhood mixology store. in addition to a brilliantly curated collection of spirits, tinctures, ans tools, Lonnie and the rest if the guys make it a joy to come into shop the way that it used to be fun to shop for music at local record stores. I always walk in for a hard to find beverage and walk out with 5+ aw dome and obscure spirits that ive never heard of before.
Barkeeper is one of the finest, unique, carefully curated liquor/mixologist/cocktail goods shops I have ever seen in the nation! Their friendly and knowledgeable staff make every visit a special journey. You will find and purchase something every time. I would not steer you wrong. Tasting events, celebrity spirits guru visits, hard to find spirits. What more do you want? Go. Now. Cheers!
