Perhaps by not hiring individuals who evidently would rather see an animal starve or get killed instead of letting others try to save animals and making sure they are healthy, finding good homes and spay/neuter them. I cannot understand an uncaring person working in animal health care.
With TNR well known as a means to care for homeless cats and kittens. The Manager of Banfield Pet Hospital in West Linn, OR, released a cat from a managed trap. She sits firmly on the "arrogant, ignorant bench" and also on the "POWER TRIP BENCH" FOR ALL TO SEE. We don't take TNR actions lightly in our effort to save lives. They stink. A vet who employees a person who would deliberately interfere with saving a cats life should be banned from practice.
I would suggest that you educate one of your “vets” on the dangers of Xylitol when ingested by dogs. With the increase in products sweetened with this substance, I would expect a vet not to brush off the owner, but to ask about the other ingredients in whatever the dog had ingested. There is NO antidote. Hypoglycemia, lethargy, balance issues, seizure, coma and frequently death, sometimes as soon as 24 hours.
