Great Place For Cal Gear This is a great story with tons of stuff especially if you are going to stop by to get some Cal gear. Their selection is large and the prices are a bit lower than that of the student store so be sure to check this place out before going elsewhere. PROS: large selection CONS: things could be a little cheaper
cute clothes, but pricey This store often has very cute clothes. Convenient for us Cal students as it's right across the street from campus, they also offer a wide array of Cal gear. From sweatshirts to keychains to window stickers, you can find everything at the student store and more for cheaper prices. Wow..that's a lot of clothes. This is really a warehouse huge. Like as big as Costco. They have tons of tons of clothing. The college clothes selection is huge too. Unfortantely, it's all high priced, but there is really nowhere that you wont find high priced clothing for a college. The staff is really indifferent, but you do not really want someone to be breathing down your neck when you're shopping. Their prices for regular clothes like shoes from Converse are reasonable. small department store with good clothing This store appeals to many UC Berkeley students because it is the closest department clothing store. It is decent price, some things are cheap, others expensive (like their shoes). I like browsing around the store because they have all sorts of clothing (like any department store should be). I would recommend to all people of all ages (men and women). PROS: decent priced, appeals to all ages CONS: wish there were more signs of where things go (juniors section, dress)
Department Store Shopping Near Telegraph Directly off Telegraph Avenue is Bancroft Clothing Company. It's in essence a department store full of remainders and discount clothing geared toward the college-age connoisseur. Lots of cargo pants, jeans, backpacks, hats, sneakers, sweatshirt, etc. Fair prices and decent staff help. Park in the Durant lot or plan to street park far away.
Lots of Berkeley apparel, but lacking sizes! Bancroft Clothing Company has the largest (and best, in my opinion) selection of UC-Berkeley apparel, but they almost never have the sizes I'm looking for (nothing unusual--mediums or smalls)! Occasionally I've asked them to notify me when a particular size comes in, and they say they will, but then they don't. However, they still have the best selection in Berkeley. the cal clothing store i bought my first cal sweater here and not until later on when i checked other stores that i realized i paid a little too much for it. not officially the store for cal clothing and accessories but they do have a large variety. things aren't cheap here however. sweaters range from $35-60
An ok place I'll start off by saying what really annoys me about the store. You have to check your backpack at the door. I know other stores in the area do it to, but it's really annoying that they make you take your backpack off before they let you enter. Besides that, they're a good store. Berkeley's Department store This is the closest you can come to a department store in Berkeley. There is a very large selection of clothing and plenty of official Berkeley sweatshirts. The store also has a large stock of shoes and a relatively friendly staff that consists predominantly of Berkeley college students. Being located less than half a block from campus, who could resist?
