Great Romantic Evening – This is one of the truly fine dining experiences in Salt Lake City. Everything from the fine wait staff to the ecclectic decor to the unbelievable fare makes me feel pampered. If you are tired of dining at many Salt Lake so-called fine restaurants only to listen to children crying (first clue folks, fussy 2 year olds do not belong at fine restaurants-nor babies at movies but thats another story)you will be refreshed by the adult atmosphere at Bambara. Girls night or with a date you can't beat it – I have been to the bambara and it's adjoining bar on several occasions. It is an excellent place to go. Although a little more expensive then the usual restaurants around down town it is well worth it. I have found the staff helpful and informed. The menu varied with items for every palette. The surroundings inspire and the deserts are tremendous. One of my favorite downtown spots – For dinner with your significant other or lunch with a client, this place is ideal. Every time I go I am impressed with the food and the service. Very nice to have downtown.
Off night – We received poor food, incorrect food, thay were out of the first two wines that we ordered and then the white wine was warm. Very dissapointing but a fine looking place.

Read the newer reviews of Bambara.. – I went to Bambara this last weekend with my husband, and it was soooo wonderful! But before I say why, I need to say that you need to read the new reviews of this place. There's new chefs there now (since 2002), and the food is great! Bambara is very romantic! That was my first impression. The lighting and mood are great. I also went at night, which helps! The pictures on Bambaras website don't do it justice. It looks so much better in person! Great Pre-Theater Dinner – This place is quite nice. The atmosphere is classic; but not uncomfortable. You can show up in a suit/dress as well as casual clothing (but not grung-like clothing). Broad selection. Everything looks good. Something for everyone's taste. Actually, not too expensive, especially if you don't drink liquor; a little more if you do.
Pre-Capital Theatre MUST – Good mix of dishes--from steak & chicken to pasta. Great desserts to choose from. About $50 per person (less if you don't drink)--my wife and I spend $75 with tip. Parking is not free but they have a voucher that provides a discount. Great place to go before the Theatre.
