Have to admit, I'm a big fan – Bambara has great food and a fun atmosphere. I went for lunch and fell in love with the salad I had (included spiced walnuts, green apple-curls, blue-cheese crumbles, etc. DELCIOUS). The entree was good, not amazing, but the dessert was great too. The waiter was very good, and the host remembered our names and hailed us on our way out. Very fun, just this side of classy, and very good food.
Good food, but snooty – I will say that the food was good, you will probably enjoy anything you order. I had the Ribeye Steak and my wife had the Halibut, both were very good. The staff needs personality, they were a bit snooty. To bad, this place could be one of the premier restuarants in SLC. I probably won't go back, as I usually enjoy more comradorie with the staff, and you won't get that here.
A must-try in SLC. – Bambara offers an exciting, contemporary menu with decor and service to match. I started with the Roasted Corn and Peeky Toe Crab Bisque. The flavors were sublime and addictive. I had a difficult time choosing an entree, since everthing sounded good. The server recommended the filet so I tried it, and it was exceptional. Excellent Hotel Restaurant – I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. I started with an excellent portabello pasterie appetizer that was laced with aniseed (sp?) flavoring. It was delicious and just the right size for two to share. For my main course I had a special they were offering - an excellently prepared seared ahi tuna. Ibaramba! I was expecting a movie first – It was late and I was starving, this was the only reason I even sat down. True they were packed, but we did have reservations, we passed several tables not in use and and were seated in thier bar. Our waitress had way to many tables, but still not an excuse for being rude. we had an enjoyable dinner – my husband and tried bambara for the first time on valentine's. we were unable to make a reservation due to the fact that all tables had already been reserved. but on our way downtown i called one last time and one of the small tables next to the kitchen was open. perfect timing!!! the food and atmosphere were wonderful. the cheese plate for dessert was one of the best i've had in the u.s! had a chance to chat with the chef, great guy, understands food!
Date night at Bambara – Great wine selection, even if you don't like blue cheese - you have to try the chips! Server was great - attentive but not interfering. While it is not SLC's least expensive restaurant, it worth the fair prices charged. Food was very good - steak was not overcooked and pasta dish was exceptional. GO!
This restaurant is amazing! – Usually I don't care for hotel restaurants, but Bambara at Hotel Monaco is amazing. The steak, halibut, bleu-cheese gratin potatoes, everything were perfect! Our waiter was one of the very best I have ever encountered. He was very friendly and helpful, but didn't smother you like some waiters. This is the best restaraunt I have found in Utah.
