Every time we travel from Kentucky to Auburn where we grew up 50 years ago, a must stop is Balloons to enjoy an adult beverage or two with friends and have a great meal. Bernie Simmons does a great job with not only menu items but specials as well.

"Utica Greens" with pickled banana peppers. "Cioppino" of rubbery shrimp scallops and salmon (WHERE ARE THE crab, clams squid and mussels??), over dry pasta with maybe a tablespoon of broth. At this price range everything should be authentic. If you run out of the right stuff to make a dish, don't sell it... Oh, and a 30 minute wait after the reservation time, no acknowledgement from the hostess, and they took people before us who had missed their reservation time by 2 hours.
Outstanding food, great people. Make you feel like family.
By far our favorite restaurant! Enjoyed a great dinner there last night to celebrate our anniversary. Terrific service, as usual, from our waiter, Jay, and two superb steak dinners (one fillet and one boneless ribeye!) Why go anywhere else?
