If you do one thing while in Seattle you have to go visit the Ballard Kayak guys. I booked on a sunset tour figuring it would be a whole group thing, only to rock up and find out I was the only one going. So basically got my own personal tour kayaking in the Sound. Had an amazing time on our tour of the sound today. Our guide, Jay, was fantastic. Great for beginners, which both my partner and I were. The views were spectacular and I enjoyed the bits of history and wildlife sightings. Pro tip: if you go on a 2 hr 4:30 tour and work up an appetite, head a few blocks south to Ray's cafe, sit outside on the deck and enjoy a stunning sunset with your seafood ;) Thanks again Ballard Kayak crew--we'll be back again soon I hope!
This is a great way to experience the pacific northwest. Our guide,Jay, was very patient and she provided excellent service. Our group was able to see seals and blue heron. The best part of the trip was going through the locks. I'd definitely recommend this tour. If you go, be sure to bring some water and maybe a granola bar in case you get hungry during the trip.
