RecommendedMust do in the area! Such a unique way to learn more about Ballard and the greater Seattle area. We did the Ballard locks tour and it was truly a special experience! I don’t think I ever would’ve kayaked through the locks on my own. We even saw quite a few seals! A fun way to spend a Saturday morning.
Absolutely add this to your MUST DO list! The only regret I have is not doing it sooner. Our guide Jay was GREAT! Knowledgeable, funny, confidently calm, and very personable! I was a bit nervous since this was my first time in a kayak, but quickly found out I had nothing to worry about and was able to enjoy EVERY minute of our tour. It helps when your guide can make you feel safe so that you can spend your time soaking in the surroundings. The staff at Ballard Kayak and Paddleboard were very friendly and patient as I tried kayaking with my dog for the first time. They offered some good tips and it was a success. We had a great time! I definitely recommend them based on their customer service and dog friendliness.
Amazing experience! I loved the Ballard Locks tour and getting to see so much of the area on the water, plus the awesome chance to kayak THROUGH the Locks! Our tour guides were energetic, knowledgeable, and very great kayaking teachers! I would highly recommend doing this tour!

Wow! Can’t say enough good things about this crew! My husband and I live in Magnolia and took visiting family on the guided tour through the Ballard Locks. We had a blast! Chloe and Jay were our guides. They were professional but fun...full of interesting details about wildlife, and they made everyone feel comfortable and safe.
