Last week, I decided it was time for a change with my hair and booked with Jamie. Firstly, the online booking process is really convenient. It also sends you reminders, which I always appreciate. Yesterday, when I arrived at Balance, I had to admire the ambience of the salon! It’s kind of tucked away, which feels private, and the decor felt really peaceful. The haircut was great, but the customer service left a lot to be desired. There was a little confusion at one point on where Jamie wanted me to sit, and when I asked for clarification she got noticably rude with me. I understand getting frustrated having to repeat yourself, but this was just so unnecessary. It was really uncomfortable and honestly soured what would have otherwise been a positive experience. I can't deny her skill as a stylist, though.
The haircut itself was okay and met basic expectations. However, the overall experience was extremely uncomfortable due to the stylist’s unusual demeanor. The entire interaction felt particularly awkward, and conversation was discouraged to the point that I felt on edge. I saw that Jamie had good reviews so I booked a haircut with her. It’s been 6 months since I had mine cut and she asked many questions on what I wanted. She did a great job and I really appreciate her getting me in. Cute shop too.
