I've been going to Bahrs for many years and it's one of my favorite places to eat and have cocktails period. My fishing friends and I sometimes bring in fish fillets that we caught during that day and they will prepare at very reasonable price with veggies/potatoes included. You can't get any fresher than this.
We have been wanting to for a lovely dinner for a while at Bahrs. Made reservations had a wonderful window seat. Just as the sun was going down. Great atmosphere. And than we waiting 25 minutes for a drink. By the time we were served our meal, they brought us complimentary soup. Because we were waiting an 11/2. Gonna say thank you for the scenery but we will not be back ! 145.00 later an disappointed :(

My husband and I were there yesterday for lunch. We go several times a year when I need a seafood fix. To me, it is worth the drive for the freshest and tastiest seafood around. I ordered the Hot Fisherman's platter and my husband ordered the stuffed flounder. My plate had a huge lobster tail, which I chose to add the crab meat stuffing. Love this Jersey Shore seafood restaurant with awesome view of Raritan bay! Took a couple from California after an afternoon walk at Sandy Hook. Food and service was great. I had 1 1/2 lb lobster.......mmmmmmm! A local favorite for many years! Interesting history.
