Good "Bar Food" – We have dined at Bad Dog for both lunch and dinner and had exceptional meals both times. The food is always good and they offer a lot of great alternatives to "bar food". I enjoyed their wine list and my fiance enjoys thier selection of beers. Great option for Lincoln Square drinking and dining!
Good food, but unprofessional waitstaff – The first time I went here with friends in the evening for drinks I had a good time - the surroundings were cozy and service was prompt. So I returned with my parents and had weekend lunch in their outdoor area in August 2006. I have never experienced such rude service before. The hostess was fine, but our waitress was gruff and inattentive. Don't go to Bad Dog Tavern for Bloody Mary's – After noticing the high rating for Bloody Mary's at Bad Dog Tavern, I happened to be in the area the other day and was anxious to try one of these highly recommended Bloody Mary's. It was just a mix with vodka. I had to ask for Olives and/or any other garnishings. There was nothing to the drink ... I could make a better B.Mary at home. Better-Than-Bar Food We were pleasantly surprised by the food and atmosphere here. They have great burgers and sandwiches, as well as entrees. The front of the building is a bar with several flat screen TVs, and in the back is a quieter dining area. They also have a great outdoor space. Perfect for a quick bite to eat before movies at the Davis Theater, or you could spend a few hours over beer and appetizers in the bar or patio.

Jury still out – The look is fairly hip for lincoln square, the servers and bartenders are cool, the outdoor patio is fine, but something is odd. It seems like an bizarre mix of sports bar, quasi mod restaurant with poetry readings/live comedy on Sunday's. I think they'd be better off taking out the TV's and adding more chairs and live music on the weekends.

Needs time to figure it out – A trendy bar in a stroller heavy neighborhood with an average menu and downtown prices - go to the Grafton across the street for a much better burger and much better prices. I'd hate to see this place fail but they've got to decide if they're going to be a tavern or a trendy restaurant.
