Terrible place, ruined my night – I went here on New Years eve and had the worst night of my life. This in turn ruined my whole week. I go in with a few of my friends and went to the counter and asked for some water. The guy gives me a dirty look, fills a glass of water, and slams it down in front of me. Half the glass splashed on my arm and sleeve. I said "what the hell is this?!" and he said "deal with it, it's just water" and he walks away. apparently things have changed – I had a great experience there on friday night, i read the old reviews and thought id take a chance, service was prompt and great, food was delicious ( not that expensive either). just be prepared to get there early the large patio fills up quick. i will return
TERRIBLE FOOD - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY – My fiance and I had been excited to eat at Bad Dog Tavern for weeks. I can honestly say that after eating at hundreds of restaurants over the past 6 years, this is one of the worst meals I've ever had in Chicago. Won't be back... – The first time I came here I think was in May, and I had a great experience... the outdoor patio is great in the warm weather, and they have a couple good Belgian beers. I had a salmon sandwich that I loved... I couldn't stop raving about how the salmon was cooked perfectly and the garnishes/dressing/etc complimented it perfectly... less than a good dining experience. – the servers act like your an intrusion.. I was served my dark beer with almost 3 inches of head. The food was cold! the salmon was dry.. fast food slow! bad dog has a good beer selection, but dont' bother asking any questions becouse the staff will have no awnswers for you. The hopleaf or cooper's are far better!! try one of those instead.....
Don't Bother – I don't frequently have motivation enough after a dining experience to actually write one of these, but this must be said. Good "Bar Food" – We have dined at Bad Dog for both lunch and dinner and had exceptional meals both times. The food is always good and they offer a lot of great alternatives to "bar food". I enjoyed their wine list and my fiance enjoys thier selection of beers. Great option for Lincoln Square drinking and dining!
Good food, but unprofessional waitstaff – The first time I went here with friends in the evening for drinks I had a good time - the surroundings were cozy and service was prompt. So I returned with my parents and had weekend lunch in their outdoor area in August 2006. I have never experienced such rude service before. Don't go to Bad Dog Tavern for Bloody Mary's – After noticing the high rating for Bloody Mary's at Bad Dog Tavern, I happened to be in the area the other day and was anxious to try one of these highly recommended Bloody Mary's. It was just a mix with vodka. I had to ask for Olives and/or any other garnishings. There was nothing to the drink ... I could make a better B.Mary at home.
