Citysearch Editorial Review – Opened in its current location in 2004, Backspace is the type of boutique-as-co-op San Francisco is best at. Almost everything from the clothes to the art on the walls is locally made and sometimes even designed by the customers themselves. Style! – This wonderful boutique has new pieces all the time, with fantastic fahsion forward style. The owner is very friendly, and knows how to stock this hidden treasure store! There are items in all price ranges. If you are looking for something unique, comfortable, dresssy, casual, etc.. most likely you will find it here. It is pretty hard to leave this cool place, without something in hand. Seriously.

Lower Haight boutique offers a mix of local designs and big-name brands. – In Short Housed in a former church, this quaint shop off the Haight Street beaten path offers approachable yet stylish fashions at affordable prices. Local designers' creations from Mike & Chris mingle with sassy dresses by Sass & Bide, designer denim, and a vast selection of wearables from Grey Ant and Zigi. Each item is handpicked by owner Susan Jones.

Great designer boutique! – The new Backspace is even better than the old one. I absolutely love my new "Mike & Chris" hoodie. I come to Susan for all kinds of unique items. Incredible jeans and bags too!! I just love that she is so knowledgeable about the fashion industry, She's a great stylist.
