My fiancé and I are planning a thru-hike of the Long Trail (in Vermont) and went in to get some gear for our trial run this week. The guy that helped us (Ben, maybe? I'm terrible with names!) was SO helpful and patient! Every time I thought we were done I remembered something else on the list and he was more than willing to offer his opinion and ideas. Best place to get hiking / backpacking gear in the Midlands. Staff is super knowledgeable, and out on trails often themselves.
Lots of good stuff. Very nice employees. They have Northface, Patagonia, Columbia and other name brands.

The Backpacker is an incredible place to find both great gear and also knowledgeable staff who will help guide you in the correct direction tor all of your adventures. No other shop can beat their quality advice, which is why they've had families return generation after generation. I cant wait to to back for advice and gear for my next trip!
