I saw the product and it was on clearance. I love tomatoes and found the self-watering feature a wonderful add on. Now I am no Master Gardener, but I'm not horrible either. My green thumb keeps us supplied for the summer and fall. The store I purchased this at are selling them again and I can't believe the price! After the sticker shock I decided I was very happy I was only out only around $5.00. I hate to throw away the self watering aspect, but if it can't even get shoots to sprout what's the point!
