I wanted a natural birth with my second child and sought Baby Love because I had a cousin who had a water birth there and loved it. My first time there for the tour I was deeply uncomfortable and offended due to the video we had to watch about natural birth. There were no statistics, no information, just 20 or so minutes of graphic nudity of women in the birthing tub. I loved the birth center! This was my fourth and I didn't have too many concerns or issues. My main one was my pelvis pain and they directed me to see mama chiropractor which was a LIFESAVER! I loved that my cervix wasn't checked 50 million times. It isn't even needed so I'm happy about that. I loved that it felt like I was family every time I called or came in. I chose well to have my baby in water here. I knew it was the right choice every time I came in for prenatal appointments with Samantha or Ivy. I knew it was the right place because it somehow balanced feeling comfy like home and professionally equipped with the staff and resources needed for any situation that might arise in the birthing experience. Well... I wouldn't bother going here if you don't have 90 dollars to spend on birthing classes. and that's 90 dollars PER CLASS. I read the birthing book instead because I couldn't afford that. When I went into labor I didn't feel prepared to go through a natural birth and wound up being delivered by the midwife, Samantha at the hospital. She was there to check me in and then left me there, only showing up for the last 10 minutes of my labor and almost missed it completely. I sought Baby Love Birth Center and midwifery care after a terrible experience with my first birth with an OB in a hospital. The prenatal care was far superior and that is really focused on total wellness, not just the BP, fundal height, urine sample and pay your copay like you would find in an OB's office.
