My husband Neal and I have been coming here for years! Love the ambiance, seating style downstairs and the overall classy vibe this establishment projects. Best service and Italian food menu in the city. And if you're lucky, you might get a glimpse of Mario dining with friends.
Food was excellent, service was 'nice' but why for heaven's sake did we get maltreated with loud loud heavy metal music for almost all diner long ? Would not come back.
We had the please to celebrate my husband's birthday at Babbo tonight, it was amazing!! We loved everything there, service excellent, food wonderful, winner very good! Thank you all.
Food excellent (again), but the service was not as good as before. After seated we waited 15 minutes before were asked about a drink order. There were four of us thirsty! And I felt badly for the folks at the two tables between the front door and the coat "room." The crowded aisle must have made them feel pressed against the wall by folks waiting for their tables and others retrieving or handing in their coats. Those tables should be removed.

Pappardelle Bolognese, Barrel-Aged Negroni, and Branzino: all amazing! Perfect timing on dinner service, atmospheric: love the same-side seating on the booths. Most importantly: there's times when I think the NY restaurant scene trains their waitstaff in impoliteness. However, everyone at Babbo is as happy to see you as you are to be there. Bravo!
