Ordered the crispy rice (do it), the yellow carpaccio (eh, it’s okay), and the seasonal veggie tempura (you can pass). Ordered the jalapeño roll and the flaming one, highly recommend those rolls. It was good, not super busy for a Wednesday but it was hard to get our waiter’s attention. He was super attentive to other tables though Oh, and the lychi martini were pretty good and try a sake flight! Ooooh, and the lava cake was nice, but honestly a bit decadent and would’ve been happy to just split that instead of ordering too.
Had the specialty Omakase experience which was quite the experience. Chef Miguel Lopez and his team curated a first class experience with seasonal flavors and selections. Every one of the 18+ courses was thoughtful, explained, and contextual. The service staff were friendly and attentive. I added the " Women of the Water" sake flight which were all well balanced with flavor and sweet notes. Highly recommend! And I plan to go back for a future tuna carving.
I had a truly disappointing experience here with my family. When we arrived around 10 p.m., we were told there were no available tables and that all were reserved, even though we saw at least eight empty tables. After some back and forth, a table suddenly became available. What made it worse is that those so-called reserved tables remained empty the entire time until we left close to closing.
