Not the newest place but a great family resaurant – Service was good. Attentive waitress. The chips and salsa were great. I had the steak fajita quesadillas. They were pretty good especially if you like the guacamole and sour cream on the side. The kids ate all their food which was a plus in my book. Comfortable kid atmosphere.
The Arroz Con Pollo is WOW! – I have eaten here more times than I can count (including when it was at the old location a few blocks away). Yes, it is a chain, but the food is to die for. Though it may be sad to say, I dream about their "Arroz Con Pollo," which is boneless chicken breast sauteed in a light tomato sauce with big chunks of mushrooms and onions, served over rice with melted jack cheese. Served with flour tortillas. Oh my god, this stuff is good. My friend also likes their cheese enchildas quite a bit (though, li... read more
Nice Waiters – Whenever we've gone here we've been given good service. They use to have this "All You Can Eat" in their bar area only, but not sure if they still have it. It was a good deal if you want mediocre, unauthentic Mexican cuisine. In the restaurant itself, the food is passable. I think the only way to get really good Mexican food is to travel south to California or Arizona, etc. Also, a couple of times, my friends said this restaurant in particular got their bill wrong. They were billed twice off their debit cards ... read more
Real Good Food – Coming from Southern California, where closer you are, the better the food. (To Mexico, that is) This place is a really good "Mexican" restaurant. Fresh salsa, fresh chips, lots of choices and usually too big of a meal! Only found a few places that have really good fresh-mex and this is one of them!
Editorial Review by Christy Buena – Standalone eatery serves Tex-Mex cuisine and offers two for one margaritas, a full bar and fiesta platters.
no tamales!!! – Last Friday night we wnet to our local Azteca. It was pretty crowded so we sat in the bar to order dinner. I ordered the tamales, after 20 minutes the waiter came back and said they were all out. I asked if I could substitute two tacos since they were out of tamales. The waiter said to me "you wish". I was so disgusted with him I lost my appetite and left. If you are out of something isn't it your job to make it up to the customer. Maybe you will get polite service sitting on the restaurant side.
Great food and Great customer service – I travel Spokane occasionally for shopping, concerts etc and Azteca is always on my list of places to eat! The service is great, atmosphere charming and the food is delicious! The downtown location makes it a bit difficult for parking but if you are at the Performing Arts building or Riverfront Park, it's only a short walk away!
MY FAVORITE – Yes, it's a chain, but Azteca is my favorite for Mexican. Great deal for the price. The place is clean, and plenty of boths so you don't have to settle for a table. The service is also good. I get the chicken ala crema (sp.?) which I love in their soft flour tortillas. I also am a fan of their chicken totilla soup. Best I've had. I love their chips and salsa, and their mosse or fried ice cream for desert. I always take friends for family there becuase I know the place is good and have never been disappointed.
Decent "Americanized" Mexican menu – This is a very friendly restaurant that has very friendly and attentive service. The appetizer "platter" is big and has a nice variety. The problem is that it's not truly Mexican, but tailored for American Tex-Mex. As far as Mexican-American comfort food goes, they do a decent job. The refried beans and Mexican rice that you recieve with your entree are all right. As far as the main part of your entree....choose well. The tamales are horrible, but the Chile Colorado enchiladas are good as... read more
