We rented a car from the Denver airport. Returned the vehicle in perfect condition, the guy at the airport did his inspection, he said, "All looks good, you are good to go, have a safe flight". We received a invoice in the mail from Avis Viking that there was $981.87 of damage done to the car and we are responsible for repairs. I rented a vehicle from Avis at Chicago O'Hare airport from 12/3/2021 to 12/6/2021. I returned the car and was told to just leave the keys in it. Weeks later (12/20/2021) I received an extra charge for $450.I have not received any explanation or notification for the reason of the charge. The car was returned in the same or better shape than when I received it. I have been on hold for a long time trying to call the company to receive a refund.

When it was time to return the car, during the posted hours, there drop off location was not open (no key drop off). Called Avis and was told that the location should be open and they were unable to contact the location manager. Their suggestion was to "wait and hope" someone showed up. Told them that I didn't want to plan my day hoping someone showed up and asked for someone else. At which point I was transferred and hung up on. Ended up waiting, not sure what else I could of done. The car AVIS rented to me is completely unsafe. One would think that renting a car would mean it would be safe. I rented the car and drove it to Northern WI. As soon as there was a small bit of snow on the pavement, it fishtailed. I had to drive 25 MPH back to the hotel. l took it to a mechanic and he showed me 2 almost bare back tires. Rented a car from Avis for 6 hours to drive from Miami to Orlando Christmas Eve (about a 4-hour drive). We received the car later than the 10am pick up because of Avis. Then arrived in Orlando before the drop off time to find that the location closed early. We waited for 45 min then were on the phone for another 45 trying to get help. There was no drop box and the only solution we were offered was to drive another 30 min out of the way to drop off the car. I rented a car in advance at Denver airport. The guy at the counter said I had to get a different vehicle (not a suggestion ) and it was only $200 more then he started adding on things without asking me. I looked at my acct right after instead of the $608 car I rented, I had a $1,450 charge to my card ruining our vacation. It is a long story but worth reading. On December 25th 2021 our family left our home in Salt Lake City - UT - and arrived in Cedar City - UT for a short ski vacation. As we parked our truck in the hotel parking lot, we realized that the transmission fluid was drained on the ground and we ended up with no transportation. Back in April I reserved a car through Budget for a rental in St. Thomas in August for just over $1300. In August just before our trip I received a notification to do a fast check in so that it would save time at the airport. When I went on my account to do a fast check in- it said I altered my reservation and doubled the amount that I owed (over $2600). I called customer service this morning regarding an overchargedÂpayment. The representativeÂI spoke to this morning was very rude and hung up in my face when I asked to speak to a manager. The representative frequently cut me off when I attempted to ask a question and has discouraged me from using Avis for me or my business's employees in the future. At this juncture, the dollars lost pales in comparison to the inconvenience of doing business and seeking service with Avis.
