Enjoyable resturant which was once a church. The church windows are still intact and beautiful. I should have take pictures but I chose not to interrupt other patrons.
Our family loved eating here for lunch today. Service was excellent, our waiter was patient with our taking time to decide. He had answered all of our questions and food was delivered hot and promptly once we'd decided. Excellent vegetarian chilli rellano. Always enjoy Mama Avila's soup. Of our party of 6, each of us raved about the taste and choices. We highly recommend this Avila's el ranchito!
Excellent place to relax, eat some great food and enjoy the night air. Also, if your guilty pleasure involves historical places and interesting stories, you'll enjoy it as much as I did. Teaser: The church was built in 1893 and modified in 1912 in a Queen Anne—Carpenter Gothic style. The building stopped operating as a church in 1992.[2] It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
