the diagnosis’s here are never good. I feel like they are only there for the $$$. I’ve struggled to find genuine exotic vet’s since 2020 i began bringing my guinea pigs ( 4 ) here. My first guinea pig died 6 months ago after SEVERAL and i mean MORE THAN 4 Appointments within the year trying to figure out why my guinea pig wasn’t gaining weight, she just kept getting more and more skinny but all she did was eat. I cannot say enough about the care, compassion, and humanity we experienced at Avian and Exotic Vet Hospital, especially from Dr. Gilette! I brought my guinea pig, aptly named Trouble, in when she suddenly stopped eating. It quickly became clear that she had severe dental issues and was, heartbreakingly, on death’s door. I came here to bring my Holland Lop in for a general check up & nail clipping. The front desk was beyond friendly and gentle when handling her. They took me in the room during the check up, the vet answered all my questions. The whole process from check in to check out took less than 30 minutes and not to mention very affordable! I will definitely be using them for all future visits.
I’ve been here multiple times for my turtles. I had little issue before, but my most recent visit i had an 11:40 appointment and wasn’t seen until 12:45. I saw Dr Jenkins and he was friendly, but he wouldn’t let me speak and continuously cut me off when I was trying to explain my turtle’s condition. He then took her back for a shot without asking me and then brought her back and she was bleeding from the back of her shell like he dropped her. I brought my red eared slider Rufus in with an eye infection. Dr. Gillette saw him promptly, evaluated him, and prescribed antibiotic shots. His eye is back to normal now and he is doing great. All the staff were also very kind and helpful. Thank you!
