I had the pleasure of my first visit at Avessa Salon in Barrington. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by all three working stylists. Response to gralule – On the website at every price is " & up" and the phrase "prices are subject to change". This allows adjustment if need be. One Daughter had several colors in her hair from bleaching at home as she disclosed to the stylist. This made it a corrective color and therefore changed the price as she was informed. On completion of her service she expressed she loved it and thanked her stylist. HORRIBLE!!!!!!! – Any positive reviews of this salon must have been written by the staff. We are new to the area and I decided to give this salon a try with my two teenage daughters. I checked their website before going and teenagers and adults had different prices. We arrived and were met with florescent lighting, an empty salon and rude staff. Would definitely recommend – I love my Gel Polish manicures from Avessa Salon. Mine consistently lasts for two weeks, no chipping, no peeling. Its great. The salon is beautiful, the customer service is exceptional. The owner, Ellen, treats every customer like family. I don't know how she does it, but I'm glad she does. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Oh, and if you need waxing Ellen does an outstanding job. Anyone that can take the pain of of that experience deserves high praise. Highly recommend!

Exceptional Service at Avessa Salon in Barrington – I just came from Avessa Salon in Barrington where I had my usual Gel polish/French manicure. The consistancy of professionalism and accomodation that they provide is unparralelled, not to mention the consistantly beautiful work. Ellen, the owner, is a true artist, as are the rest of the staff. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Give them a call...you'll love them too!

Great time saving experience – This salon was recommended to me as an alternative to my regular long afternoon barber shop visits. I stopped in for a hair cut and was greeted by the owner (Ellen). She assured me that my service could be fit in between her previously scheduled appointments without any disruption or appointment necessary. Great Place – I love going to Avessa and have been doing so for over 5 years. I came to find the salon after a stylist at Christaan's nearly ruined my hair. I called the salon and the owner, Ellen, was gracious enough to fit me in immediately to help with my hair emergency. It is a beautiful salon, great location and friendly staff that are enjoyable to be around. The salon has a lot to offer and I can't imagine going anywhere else!
