I recently stayed at Avana Sunset Apartments, and my overall experience was quite mixed, with a few positives but also several noticeable drawbacks. From the beginning, the booking and check-in process was fairly standard, but not particularly smooth. Building not new and have a problems, but they always go out of their way to help residents; if something breaks, you don't have to wait long for it to be fixed. You can tell they care about the residents. That's my experience living here.
Please do not make the same mistake I did by moving into this place. We’ve had 3 different property managers within the last year. My lease will be up in a month and In the WHOLE YEAR they did not fix plumbing issues in my bathroom even though I had sent multiple requests in and spoke with them directly in person about it. I cannot use my shower because whenever our neighbors flush their toilets disgusting brown chunky water comes up my shower drain and fills my bathtub. If you LOVE cockroaches, constant flooding, A/C breaking during heat waves, and all the worst things about apartments in Los Angeles, this is the place for you! They have it all. Mold! Bugs! Terrible property management, and so much more. If YOU want a wet place to live and to be constantly lied to, this is your new wet n wild home <3 For the record: Lewis was a fantastic manager (like other reviews have stated) but he left in early 2023. PMA has done next to nothing productive to actually solve flooding problems in 3 years.
