Excellent BYOB in West Chester PA – My wife and I have enjoyed many excellent meals at Avalon and have taken family and friends there as well. When you go, not only will you enjoy great food, but the service and ambiance are excellent as well. Awful – I cannot believe Avalon is in business. My husband and I have dined in all of the nice resturants in West Chester and this is hands down the worst. The food was disgusting, and the wait staff seemed over worked. We were sitting near a table that complained to the owner/manager about their meal and the owner/manager started to scream at the patron. It was the most unprofessional exchange I had ever witnessed. Not Recommended – Glad to see so many others gave this place a thumbs down - the food was terrible. Dishes came out without sides, the meat overcooked, the noise level is way too loud. On top of it all the owner was at a table next to us screaming at a woman who did not like her food. An overall bad experience.
Great food and friendly service – We are new in town and this will be our friday night out restaurant. Love the service and the dining is great. Highly recommended!
Very Romantic Second Floor Dining Room – My boyfriend and myself dined at Avalon Restaurant this past Saturday ad had a wonderful experience. DO NOT EAT HERE – I don't know who wrote the reviews with more than one star, but this place had the worst food I've ever eaten in a restaurant. Two people in my party ordered salmon. It arrived seared (who sears salmon?), and had a strong, acerbic fishy smell. The consistency was not firm; it was mushy and a bit slimy. Nice Time – Went this Saturday Night with son and his fiance. My wife and I have never been here before but we picked Avalon because that is where my son lives in New Jersey. We sat upstairs in a small dining room, which we discovered was a good choice (when we left, the main dining room was very busy). Avalon Restaurant – I was disappointed in the service. There seemed to be no communication between wait staff of what was going on and who had what tables. We were asked 3x in a row if we wanted water, (and then waited 10 mins for water) An obnoxious waiter interrupted our waitress in the midst of her telling us about the menu, to have her address another table. Best BYOB in West Chester – Avalon has got to be my favorite restaurant. I recently dined there last Sunday and the food and service was as great as always. We started out with the cheese and meat platter. Let me tell you amazing! If that was all I had to eat that night I would have been completely happy.
