If you are trying to choose an apartment in U District, DO NOT CHOOSE THE 12. The rooms they show you when you tour are NOT what you will get. We were told we would have stainless steel appliances and a full sized washer/dryer. Neither of these were the case when we moved in. We raised the issue of the washer and dryer with management as they were so small that doing a normal sized load of laundry in them was impossible. The environment and amenities here are decent — the grounds are kept fairly clean, and the gym/common areas look nice. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. This apartment complex is a complete money grab. Management constantly looks for ways to tack on extra charges. The leasing office here is extremely unprofessional and rude. In September, I was forced to pay a full month’s rent even though I only stayed for one week. The unit I moved into had multiple issues: scratches on the floor, footprints on the walls, and even dust and white footprints on the mattress. The most shameless part is their move-out policy. The study room in this apartment has very poor internet. At first it was fine, but after a while the connection became really bad and it has never improved. It’s almost impossible to get stable Wi-Fi for studying or working here....
