I honestly can't complain about the Austin Hospital. I came in under the epilepsy section; the staff are fantastic. The staff go above and beyond their pay grade. If you need to come to the Austin Hospital, please have respect for all staff members.

Whatever rude, unprofessional man was working on reception for call backs on 30/09/2026. Was the most un helpful person I’ve spoken to.

It is now 9 hours of waiting since 1sm this morning. A nurse who was very good took my blood some three hours ago about an hour ago another my blood pressure. I have investigated going to the private hospital emergency but should I be admitted that would be $1000 so I have been hoping this disaster might end. I have been short with the nurses a little but they are well used to is as this happens every day as both of them said. Many people give up but still the wait. Very poor consistency of service and poor transparency. Last visit via Ambulance still 7 hour wait and even 88 and 98yo people are waiting this long with broken bones and heart conditions. So don't expect quick visits. Often only 1 Dr in Fast Track ED not sure why there is limited staffing. There's some nice TVs good for distraction of long waits but last visit all 3 were off and often one is just promotional hospital TV. Don't expect any water in your long wait you're expected to bring your own even in ED. There's many gaps... read more
