Poor vendor relations
I used to do this show however it went down hill bad. The previous company that ran the Austin HG show was great, they put $ into entertainment and advertisement. This new company does not spend anytime to make it enjoyable.
I agree with the prior post, this used to be a wide-ranging show with anything from home appliances to roofing to landscaping. One of the vendors we hired years ago disappeared, so we did not go back for a while. This year's experience was the window and door version of a hawker stand, people accosting you and throwing bogus facts at you to attempt to coerce/scare you into purchasing. All of that said, the tickets were free and nobody dragged me there, but I do not expect to return.
As a vendor with Amazing Exteriors, this was one of the best shows we have had in two years. The downtown location was a little challenging, but the Austin folks were super friendly and fun to work with. Great show! We will be back.
This show has really decreased in quality. I used to enjoy this show quite a bit. Jan 2023 show felt like a lot of shysters trying to separate people from their money. Timeshare vacation companies and cosmetic companies galore.
