UPDATE 2: I reached out to my insurance company, and they provided the CPT code for the procedure based on my description of what was done. According to the information they gave me, the approved amount for that procedure would be about $90. Despite this, the office charged me $550 and did not attempt to submit the claim to insurance. They also billed me for an office visit on the same day—even though my insurance confirmed that I should not have been charged for a separate visit when a procedure was performed. Had a great experience at Austin Foot and Ankle Clinic as someone with anxiety. They really went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable.

I was referred to Dr. Patel by my PCP to deal with an ingrown toenail (partial nail avulsion). While I was fairly satisfied with the outcome (though I feel it's already returning, and it has only been 2.5 months), the follow-up information so I can submit a claim to insurance to go toward my deductible has been abysmal. I’m am a new patient of Dr. Nilesh Patel, and am very happy to have tried Austin Foot & Ankle Center because I had a great experience there. Nurse Sylvia removed a severely damaged nail on my big toe. My toenail looked horrible and I expected a lot of pain during the process. ZERO PAIN to my total surprise. Thank you Nurse Sylvia for your gentle touch! I wish I had come much sooner. Dr Patel explained everything to me, especially my post procedure toe care. I highly recommend this practice and my wife will go here soon.

Horrible experience here. Went in for an ingrown toenail removal, but decided against it after having the nurse check it out and I heard the price ( over $500). She asked if she wanted me to dig part of it out free of charge, and I said yes. She went in with gigantic toenail clippers and pliers and started ripping into my toe without any numbing. I was in horrendous pain without any pressure on my toe and it was the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced. I was in tears and it was bleeding everywhere, but she didn’t seem t... read more
