Client Our experience at AABC South was phenomenal! We began our pregnancy at an OB/GYN and were not receiving the quality of care we felt we deserved. We wanted a natural birth experience, so upon many recommendations decided to go with the AABC. The second we walked into AABC we felt at home. The staff is so friendly and they did everything they could to make sure that we received the best care possible. We never felt rushed during our prenatal appointments - each midwife took as much time as we needed and made sure all of... read more
AABC Wow, what an amazing place to have a baby. When I first toured I loved the idea of my own room and bathroom and the privacy of it all. I also wanted a birth where I didn't feel rushed or on a (dr's) time schedule. Many friends I have said at the hospital they felt rushed or not in control of their own plans for the baby. Plus, I felt at the birth center that if I absolutely had to have a c-section that I would trust the midwives opinion on that versus a hospital where they are done so frequently and not always necessary... read more
Great people. Great friends I have only the best to say about the people that work at the AABC south location. They took me in at 34 weeks pregnant. I wanted a Vbac and my obgyn was already suggesting to induce. I didnt have a good axperience with the nurse i had helping me with my first son at St. Davids. I remember vividly being checked by this nurse and her being so rough with me. I told her that it hurt whatever she was doing and she proceeded to ask me wether my husband ever touched me! I was so beside myself I thought ... read more
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE This Place! I am so happy I found Austin Area Birthing Center! I didn't want to deliver in a hospital at all. I transfered to them from a doctor in Round Rock. I had no problems transferring and the staff welcomed me with open arm. I was having problems with my insurance and payments and they worked with me with no hesitation. Once all the staff was on the same page with my income situation they were happy to help me out. It feels very family oriented. My husband loves it also. He was actually the one who fo... read more
Every mother-to-be should go to AABC! I am so grateful that the Austin Area Birthing Center is available in Austin. My friend moved to them at 34 weeks after a harrowing tour of the hospital where she supposed to deliver. She recommended the birthing center to me when I became pregnant, and I am so glad for it. The experience was as good as birth can be, and the prenatal care is stupendous. They give you the time to talk about anything - aches and pains as well as emotional frustrations!
A birth plan come true When my husband and I first learned that we were pregnant, we were thrilled, but confused. Where would we go? None of our friends had babies, so we couldn't ask them for advice, we were waiting to share the news with our parents so we couldn't turn to them either. Also, I knew that hospitals, doctors and needles were not what I had in mind, so I began researching and I had heard about midviwes, when the Austin Area Birthing Center came up we quickly made an appointment. When we got there, nervous, scar... read more
My perfect birth could only have happened at Austin Area Birthing Center! I gave birth naturally to my first daughter in a hospital, and while that was a rewarding experience, it was too clinical and chaotic and not at all what I wanted to experience while going through birth ?? the most momentous moment of any woman??s life.
Wonderful Experience at Austin Area Birthing Center My experience at the Austin Area Birthing Center was wonderful made especially so b/c of the fun and loving staff (Tamara and Erin) and very competent and caring midwives (Viola, Joan, Sharon). Esp. mine, Jenny Liana. Jenny has been a Certified Nurse Midwife for 10 years now. When you first meet her she comes off as gruff b/c of her strong northern accent and directness, but once you look into her eyes and work with her you soon find discover that she is a very loving, stro... read more
Love AABC! I moved to Austin at about 27 weeks and after having a very "medical" pregnancy and C-Section with my first pregnancy, wanted a more natural approach with my second. I contacted AABC for a tour and they advised me that the tour may be private or shared and asked if I had a preference - I didn't. The tour went really well and I was very impressed with the whole place! It looks like you're in a beautiful hotel or Bed & Breakfast setting. All the furnishings and fixtures are very high end. More important than the set... read more
