About this business
The mission of the non-profit, volunteer organizing committee - AuSable River International Canoe Marathon, Inc. (ARICM) - is to organize and promote the annual AuSable River Canoe Marathon, generate public exposure of the communities in the AuSable River Valley and increase awareness of our unique natural resource: The AuSable River Thousands of volunteer hours are annually contributed by the committee members and other fans toward fulfilling the mission of ARICM and staging this epic world class endurance event.

Great polite crowds, small town atmosphere and cleanliness, fabulous music, and the start of a canoe race that is super exciting even if you’ve never seen a paddle before! Everything you would hope to find at a summer festival, very well done!
If you’ve never been to one, you’re in for a week full of amazing events, culminating with the start of the race, then following the race for as long as you can stay awake, or all the way to Oscoda - 120 miles!
Everything! From the sprints, the team t-shirts all around town, the excitement and electricity in the air all week, the hill filled with hundreds of fans waiting for the start, great pre-race entertainment and then the thrill of all the teams running down Ingram St!
