Love the Grotto's – What a gem in the heart of midtown. I had a wonderful massage and enjoyed the grotto's very much. I will be going back with my boyfriend for a couples massage.
Customer service so bad it nearly scared me away!!! – I tried to make a reservation online and the spa was very responsive and asked that I call to confirm. When I did, while they did confirm a specific time and service offering, they made me rearrange the time, rearrange services as they were totally inflexible in their offerings, and were completely inflexible with creating customized packages despite what they claim on their website. Most Peculiar Techniques – I am a physician with a bad back caused by college basketball injury. I visit many spas and yoga spots in town and away. Never have had any experience as bad as the massage in this establishment. I assure you the therapists are not licensed. The techniques she used on my shoulder was rather peculiar and borderline dangerous. To make matters worse she spoke not a word of English so I could not communicate to her that she was hurting me. bad customer service – I had to wait 30 minutes for my attendant to get me and it was unclear where I should be waiting (which was in the locker room). They offered a Swedish massage but it was nothing close. The masseuse did not leave the room while I disrobed and performed some near dangerous moves that should be left to your chiropractor. Best Hang out Spa!! – So my friends and I are a bit tired of the club thing. from another friend's suggestion, a group of 6 of uswent to Aura on Saturaday night and we had a blast! This spa is gigantic so we re able to all have the same treatment at the same time - something that's pretty rare! Love the saunas and their ice sauna, pretty cool, never saw this anywhere else. bron lyon – I did not enjoy my visit to Aura at all. I am a 58 year old male with a sore back. The staff did not speak English at all and were more interested in tips than providing me with a therapuetic experience. I doubt they are licensed therapists and the staff do not know massage techniques that I am accustomed to. Again, avoid this place.
Unique Services – If you have never experienced Capsule Therapy, this is definitely the place to go! I went to Aura for an oriental-style body scrub and capsule treatment. Aura's staff is professional, yet personal, and really takes care of you during your treatments. I liked that the body scrub product is organic (big plus). As for the capsule therapy, it is AMAZING to say the least. The capsule feels exactly like a sauna...but better.
