Another Reason NYC Stinks – The space is unimaginative, 90% is roped off for bottle service, they disrespect their DJs (the booth is laughable) and really don't give a hoot about anything except taking advantage of you/how many bottles are being bought. No space to dance, no space to party, nary a space to mingle. It's only saving grace is Big O's Saturday night hip-hop party. Otherwise, wait till the location's next reincarnation. Maybe 5 times is a charm?
what kind of business are you trying to run? – i went to Aura with about 10 friends for my birthday. we were greeted at the door by a bouncer who thought it was necessary to make us stand outside in the sleet and hail for 10 minutes before letting us in, even though there was no line. Britneybitch – If you want to have a good time stay away. The generic music and the lousy over price drinks are not worth the hassle. Espcially when you have bouncers at the door who salary is less than a pair of shoe in my closet. If you want to have a good time go else where. High Cover Plus Low Quality Patrons Equals – A very average place. Aura is nice enough, the music is actually a really good selection of R&B and hip-hop. Bathrooms are really pretty and clean, Tables are large and spacious but that's where it all stops. Drinks are decent but bartenders try to tack on "your discretionary tip" into your bill. Cover is $20 for guys on a Friday night (Who charges cover anymore?). AURA OF WACKNESS – We walked into this place and walked right back out after the guy inside the door decided to write huge A's all up our forearm in red permanent marker. I have never experienced anything more ridiculous in my 27 years living in NY. Great night out at AURA...:-) – Me and my friends dropped by this place on a friday night. The crowd was good and they were playing great Hip-Hop & R n B. It was such a hassle free night, great drinks, great music and great fun. Def a place worth checking out!!!
a place must hang out at – very nice place to celebrate your birthdays. I was there for my birthday two weeks ago, the experience was unbelieveable, every staff there is very nice and helpful. I invited over 40 friends and they all got in for free and with no problem at the door. My table service was great too, they were constantly making sure I was treated alright. Three thumps up for this place, highly recommended. I will definitely go back there with my friends.. PS: tons of hot guys and girls.
Gramercy's hidden gem – Stopped by on a Friday nite with some friends and had a great time. DJ was pumpin some HOT hip hop/r&b, the crowd was lovely. Drinks were easily accessible despite the place being packed. Everyone there seemed to be having a blast. We didnt get to check out the VIP booth up top as it was already taken but that will be for another time. The downstairs room made it seem like I was in two different lounges.
