About this business

Over the last 21 years, this animal-rehabilitation center has treated and released more than 7,000 birds of prey, including eagles, hawks, vultures and owls. To learn more about these creatures, come by for a visit to Audubon Center for Birds of Prey. Twenty-two species are on view, including the famous bald eagles. The animals here cannot be returned to the wild, mostly because of health reasons. The center also hosts an adopt-a-wild-bird program.

The birds are beautiful, but the people are amazing! Yes, these are jobs for some of these people and volunteer work for others, but they care! They truly care!

Lovely place to spend a couple of hours outdoors. Lots of raptors, several bald eagles. This refuge is not crowded at all, well organized (despite the fact they appear to run on a shoestring) and a welcome respite from the theme parks in the area.

I recommend that you take your time and ask the staff and volunteers questions about the birds. They are ready and willing to answer them. I also recommend the annual pass and perhaps volunteering to help. You can learn a lot there.
