I would suggest that if you are looking for a new PCP - keep looking. Unless you are looking for a doctor that will make you come in, run all kinds of test, tell you the results of those test and then tell you she can't help you. Dr. Elizabeth Johnson is all about running up you medical bills, but then pawning you off on specialist. Grateful to have a reliable and caring doctor.. Dr Johnson has been and continues to be wonderful! As a family we have been patients for over 10 years and continue to be well pleased with her and the solid medical guidance. The staff at Athens Area Internal Med are friendly- we value the Piedmont MyChart portal as well.
Be very careful with this practice. The people that work there seem to be very nice but this organization has only one purpose: take as much money from you as it possibly can. They schedule you to come in more times than necessary and charge the heck out of you for each and every visit- even if the visit produces nothing. The excuse "this is how we do it". My husband recently had a stroke and went to see Dr Morel for a follow up visit. Dr Morel had already reviewed case notes well before our arrival, and was very helpful answering any questions we had. I am so impressed with Dr Morel. He is very knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner. He was also very prepared. I was surprised he knew my husband’s case which meant he cared enough to review it before my husband’s arrival. I cannot say enough good things about him.
