I was given a tour of all the beds and was told about their "great" tanning deal. Before discussing any other options I was given a contract for their "most popular plan". Yep, central corporate office only interested in keeping conned money – Read the reviews from around the net. They scam you at the front desk, and the corporate office is happy to let you know you are screwed. Check out atthebeachtanningripoff on blogspot. Lots of scary stories there. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT. AGREE TO NOTHING. You will not get just one visit, no matter what they tell you. At The Beach – Great hours, even though I feel bad for the girls working till 11 alone. Amazing beds, and friendly knowledgable staff. I have noticed high turn over, they need more employees. They also have great pack deals. I signed up for the turbo package, I had never done mystic tanning before and really love the color, the bed is really relaxing as well, I like the aromatherapy misters.
Bad impression – I am new to Denver but not new to tanning. I was very put off by the service at At the Beach Tans. The salespeople were not friendly, did not consider individual clients' needs, and not willing to discuss package options other than their two-year contract. After tanning for over 4 years, I can say that this was the worst impression I've ever had at a tanning salon.
Terrble customer service from their corporate office and shady billing practices – I signed up for a 12 month membership last January. In April, when I pulled my credit report, I found that At The Beach had listed me as having a 24 month membership. This was annoying because it took a few days (and lots of time on hold) to get this cleared up. Now, it is January 2008 and, according to my contract, my membership is onnly valid through 1/10/08.
