We have stayed here six or more times over the years. We like it for a number of reasons. Number one is because it is just a very pleasant place to be on the island. The hotel has everything you need, and none of the things you don't need, like a bunch of sales shops and restaurants to walk past every time you go out, or a large parking lot you have to walk a mile to your car. I particularly recommend the location if you're going to the Maui classic basketball games at Thanksgiving. No whales to be seen at that time but come... read more

We just retired and stayed for 10 days at the Mahana. It was our third time staying at the Mahana. We love the friendly staff and being on the quiet end of Kaanapali. We like the rooms are 50 feet from the ocean and we like falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. We enjoy taking long morning walks to Black Rock on the beach and the beach walk and watching spectacular sunsets. We enjoy barbecuing fresh fish on the fantastic grills by the pool. This place is beautiful! The pictures on their website are exactly as it appears.We stayed on the 12th floor and had the perfect view (all the condos have ocean views.)when we arrived we were surprised with an upgrade to our room as well as wine and chocolates since we were getting married in maui. The condo was really clean and kitchen had everything we needed. Housekeeping was awesome.
