My daughter was seen at the ER. We were told someone would reach out with next steps. They did not. We relayed this to her Lurie’s pediatrician for specialty follow up visits. Still no one reached out. Called patient relations. A pediatric RN referred us to Immediate Care for daughter’s numb foot/leg and back pain. Immediate Care said this should be spear headed by Primary. 4-5 days later and zero calls from primary. I called primary office and specifically said I’d like to speak to a doctor for next steps. Dishonest and ignored an issue for over a month. And a pretty big issue at that
This hospital only care about the almighty $$$$ My daughter that has been going there since 2014 because of a rare condition. They have always said if you need financial assistance it is available to you. We have Aetna as a primary and IN Medicaid as a secondary because she is disabled. We had to have an MRI and our primary paid over 10k, The financial department denied our financial assistance b/c we live in Indiana. This medical facility performs non-consensual and medically unnecessary surgeries on intersex children to force them to fit within binary ideas of what their body’s should be. This causes long term physical and psychological injury to many intersex individuals. This is NOT a safe place to take your intersex child to and I would caution any queer person against coming here. #endintersexsurgery #chengcutsclits
RecommendedMy son had been sick for some time and was constantly misdiagnosed and treated for the wrong issue. Finally he was transferred to Lurie children’s hospital. I was a wreck being it was so far from home, however that was the best decision ever! My son was diagnosed right away with a condition that could’ve and I believe was close to killing him. They got on it right away and saved my sons life. The nurses and doctors are absolutely amazing and my son loves them to. I will recommend this hospital over and over again.
RecommendedLurie Children’s is my number one choice for me and my family when it comes to our children. When everything is going wrong and you just want your little babies to be ok it is good to know Luries is not only one of the top children’s hospitals in the country but their knowledge and compassion eases all the stress one has.
