Academy is well known among the student population as one of the worst housing options for unl students. Here are just a few of my issues with the place: the elevators were constantly broken and made me fear for my life more than once when they would violently slam side to side in the parking garage. Management will dime and nickel you when it comes to move out fees. I have seen many report charges for over $1000+ for relatively undamaged rooms. Yeah, don’t live here. Everything you’ve heard about college living places being corrupt is exemplified by this place. Our unit was consistently over 90 degrees during the winter since they shut off AC as soon as possible during the year. Despite reasonable requests for a window AC or another solution, we were shot down consistently and told to open our windows and fans (which we had already done/told them about and surprise, didn’t work). Academy’s service and assistants were probably one of the best parts of being here. Just had to get on here and give Tristin Turco a big shout out as anytime we ever needed anything or a problem solved she would go out of her way and help us out. Tristin always helped us with what ever it was whether it was being locked out or had an issue with any appliances she would get on it right away. The community assistants did a very good job here with communication and problem solving, Tristin Turco is the 🐐!
Tristin and all the other staff were so helpful while I lived in Academy. Tristin always knew every answer to all of my questions! They made me feel so welcomed and like I was at my home away from home every time I came into the leasing office!!
