I had a horrible experience. My poor toe! I came in to have an ingrown toenail removed. A few days after the surgery, I was in such pain. I paged Dr. Ashton (as it was a weekend) and he never called me back. I got help from my regular doctor, thank God. When I did see Dr. Ashton, he was not happy I'd rec'd antibiotics from my regular doctor and when I told him about paging him and not hearing back from him, he said nothing. No apology. Dr. Ivan Ashton is my "miracle man". I first saw him 1.5 years post surgery by another doctor. Every step was painful. Now a couple of years later, I just returned from a trip to Italy where I walked at least 8 hours a day on cobblestones and took many flights of stairs without any pain whatsoever, even at night when I returned to my hotel. I was going there a few years ago. He never made a correct diagnosis and was treating the systoms instead of the cause. Used alcohol to kill the nerves to treat the pain instead of getting to root cause of pain. Now that a different foot Dr. got to the root cause with a 2nd opinion that confirmed that, it is too late. The problem can be fixed but because they killed the nerves, I'll never have a correct feeling in my foot. There are better Drs.
