Ashkay Island is fantastic, pure and simple. It offers the natural seclusion of a rustic cabin, while at the same time offering all the amenities of home. The one thing that sticks out in my mind from my visit there was the absolute peace and quiet. No boating traffic, no jumbo jets flying over, and no cars on a distant road or highway. Just pure silence, It was very relaxing. If you're looking to get "off the grid" for a week or just a few days, check out Ashkay Island. You will be more than satisfied.
Just when I thought this place couldn't get any better, now there is a TREEHOUSE!!!!!
Wow, up north right here in southeast Michigan. Your own private island with enough space to easily sleep 12 people and your own float boat to use during your stay. Wi-fi and TV is there but you will be spending so much time exploring the island, relaxing in the tree house or fishing in the lake you won't need it. Great for a small group of people to split the expense.
Awesome place to get away and hang out with your friends and family. Pictures don't do it justice. The beautiful solar powered cabin is situated on a private 8 acre island. Most of the island is covered in mature oak trees and build into some of them is a huge tree house that over looks the lake. It's a really fun, unique place.
Ashkay Island was amazing! We loved the paths around the island, lit at night with landscaping lights. The cabin was cozy, with a great kitchen table for gathering with our friends. Being able to get away from it all for a few days so close to home really helped bring our family and friends together. Can't wait until next time!
Absolutely loved our time at Ashkay. We loved the quiet and off-the-grid living, yet being able to run into town if we needed anything (we didn't). Everything from the lovely cabin to the woodstove to the kayaks and pontoon boat was wonderful. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer!
Absolutely beautiful island and lake. All amenities imaginable. Fantastic cabin with all the comforts of home. Enjoyed an extended weekend there. Only wish it had been longer!
