I used to think this was the best hospital but the level of care has went down in the past few years. Had an ER visit and was waiting in the waiting area for about 30 minutes prior to being taken back. Thought I was going into a room but was placed on a bed in the hall between 2 rooms.( there goes HIPAA) As rooms cleared out and were cleaned, I was not offered a room. nurse was very rude when i was scared for a blood draw and left the needle out for 30/40 mins nn didnt throw it where it was supposed to be

Came in with very bad vomiting and diarrhea my heart was 140s and they discharged me. They treated me like pure dirt. They weren't interested into helping me it seemed.

I love how well the nurses treated me during my overnight stay and every other time I’ve visited. I also loved how well the doctors treated me before and during my surgery and kept me informed with everything going on. My after care was magnificent after I woke up from the anesthesia. As someone of color who was not treated well at Avon ER I am proud to say that I will always go across the city to the north side for any medical care.
