Total Rip-off!!!! Service is TERRIBLE! Food is mediocre at best. – You DO NOT have to be a YANKEE to recognize that THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!!!! Don't go here! FIND a BETTER restaurant! – Sorry, NOT at all recommended! Overpriced. You have to serve yourself. That's right, no service at all. Food was crappy. Dirty restaurant. Right Off the Plane – Good place to go when you don't want to sit in a 3 star, or better, restaurant for a 1/2 hour before your food comes. I didn't want italian, steak, or hamburger. And its having a parking lot right off of Glenwood Ave suited me just fine.
worst yankees anywhere – Im so tired of yankees writing reviews of restaurants. Any restaurant outside of new york is sub-standard because its outside of new york. I want to bring something from new york and serve it at one of these restaurants just to prove a point. 99% of people say a restaurant is good but the "yankee" just has to rear his obnoxious nose every time...YOU chose to move here so deal with our food or leave. i95 goes both ways!!!
Love the food, but cheese dip is inconsistent-tomatoes are poor quality. – Love the food, but there is a room for improvement. I've been eating here since the inception and I have to be honest that the cheese dip is always inconsistent. I eat here 2-3 times a week and sometimes it is runny like water (which defeats the point of being called a dip) and sometimes it is too thick (almost like a casserole.) Serve Yourself, Wait in line again for condiments! – This is not a place I will return to. It is self-service (hello Char-grill) and is overpriced, mediocre Southwest (and Mexican) food. My biggest complaint? There was no sour cream, and the chicken wings came with about a 1 tablespoon serving of ranch dressing. To get more, I was told I had to reorder and pay at the register. New Location in Wake Forest A Pleasant Surprise – This was my first time at the Armadillo Grill (apparently there are several locations), and I will be back again. The ordering arrangements are a bit different, but there was someone at the door to explain it all (you essentially become your own waiter). Our FAVORITE place – The yummiest steak soft tacos around! Armadillo rocks. Because I started going to Armadillo as a UNC student and was used to plastic cups and paper plates -- that doesn't bother me. But I can understand how some might think that the "presentation" could use some work. That's just a way to keep it cheap!
