My sister died yesterday. Two days in hospice. Got a call today from Arkansas Hospice wanting to get paid. We had literally just left the funeral home to make her final arrangements. When I said my sister just died yesterday, I was told "we still need to be paid." Heartless & cruel.
If I could change one thing about my Father's end of life care, I would have switched his hospice agency. There are some very good, kind, people that work there, but one hand can't clap. We felt neglected by this agency multiple times through out the process. The worst was at the end when they knew he was declining rapidly but did not bother to talk to the family about it. My mother was cared for by Arkansas hospice for the last 3 weeks of her life. Each Arkansas hospice employee was professional, compassionate and helpful. I would highly recommend them to anyone choosing a hospice company.
