Perhaps we don't need a rock star... – An ostentatious dining room that might impress friends from Dallas or Omaha, the room lacked intimacy. The appointments were high quality and the bar was, indeed, impressive. We had 6 starters and 5 different entrees between 6 people. The overall quality of the service was excellent, but one would expect that in a room that had only 10 other diners in it. The sommelier kept trying to impress us with the fact that he worked at the French Laundry (3 times in one meal (?)) The food quality... read more
Nice Atmosphere with decent food – It's difficult to properly compare this restaurant to other places because of it's unique menu selection. While the food was good, there wasn't anything that really stood out. I took my friend here for a nice meal where we could chat in peace. I had spicy beef (a beef stir fry with good fresh vegetables, touches of Thai and Chinese flavors) and she had Escarole. The fish was done properly well, but a tad salty. The 3 types of potato side dishes were done fairly well, but they don't stand ou... read more
Beautiful, Relaxing, and Romantic – This is a great restaurant. I went to it with my mom and enjoyed a very relaxing time. I definetly left feeling full and happy. I had the best steak ever and all the sauces and sides were an tasty extra. Don't go if your in a hurry because they take their time preparing the dishes but it is well worth the wait! I strongly encourage everyont to go here and expierence the nirvana of delicious food in your mouths!
Perfect before the show... – My husband and I had dinner here before going to the theater and, had such a great time we almost didn't make it to the show. The food was great. Being culturely inspired there is something for everyone. They start you with this homemade nann and 4 dipping sauces, My huband had a korean inspired pork tenderloin and, I had an amazing whitefish. Plus, with your dinner you get this increadible potato bar. 3 styles of potatoes that were all to die for. Our server JJ was so cool and relaxed. He made u... read more
Nice atmosphere, Minimal wine selection – Visited the Aria Bar while staying at the Fairmont. I liked the atmosphere and would imagine that there?s plenty of people watching during the weekend. I was very disappointed in the wine selection, only 8 selections or so split b/w reds and whites, with the cheapest glass being $12. The food was subpar at best. While the miso soup was good, the beef noodle bowl was practically inedible. The broth was over-flavored and of course the veggies and noodles absorbed the unpleasant flavor.... read more
A quiet, exquisitely-appointed dining room tucked away in the Grand Del Mar resort hides a rock star chef and French Laundry-trained sommelier. – In Short Designed in homage to famed architect Addison Mizner, the dining room sits just past a formal parlor and contains liberally-spaced tables, marble floors and dramatic arches that show off sweeping hilltop views. Staff and golf course regulars often call him a "rock star," but to chef Will Bradley, it's the Mediterranean menu of local produce and the highest quality--and hig... read more
Great new spot – The dining room is grand, and maybe even a little overdone, but the sweeping views of the golf course, amazing wine cellar, and all the great specialties like risotto and short ribs make this place one of my favorite new restaurants that has opened in a while.
Way overrated – I was extremely disappointed in this restaurant. I ordered the scallops and they looked like growth hormones were injected into them--i am not one to waste food but i just couldn't finish it. My friend ordered the fish and while it was soft, it tasted like burnt plastic. We ordered 2 souffles and one tasted like warmed up fruit loops cereal. The service was great as i would expect from a place like this but it isn't enough for me to go back. The ambience is very romantic and has a titanic feeling to it.
Everything was excellent – We were staying at the Fairmont (highly recommend!) and ate one evening at Aria. We were seated promptly. the restaurant had an interesting design because it's slightly curved. Overall the ambiance is very romantic and elegant. The tables are far enough away from each other to give privacy and you don't get the squished feeling like so many other restaurants have. Wow! The food was amazing. We ordered the "mushroom soup your mother never made" and it was the most incredible soup we have ever eaten.... read more
