The Epitome of overpriced hotel dining – What do you get when you combine poor service with average food and high prices. I was astounded by how unattentive the staff was during a recent visit. The food and the associated price did not match up. Chicago is filled with hundreds of excellent restaurants this one is not one of them.

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors – Five-star New York City hotel offers guests luxury, comfort and a home away from home while they tour the city.

Excellent Ambience – The Grand Del Mar is in a lovely location in Carmel Valley and the Addison is a splendid restaurant. The ambience and service are excellent, but the portion size leaves a lot to be desired. I've been to some of the best restaurants in the country ( 19 (formerly Founders in Philadelphia ), Carnelian Room ( San Francisco), Four Seasons( New York), Willard ( Washington, D.C.) and The Mansion( Dallas, Texas). Never have I've been presented with such small servings. With just two spoonfuls,my soup was finishe... read more

Fabulous – San Diego has waited a long time for a restaurant like this. I would ignore the few mediocre ratings posted by others. It's evident by their posts they aren't used to dining in a fine dining establishment. In some ways this restaurant is above and beyond what most individuals in San Diego are familiar with. I lived there from 1997-2004, and am very familiar with the options. This experience is very similar to dining at a restaurant in NYC, London, Vegas, or San Francisco. Fine dining is about impeccable service, q... read more

Very underwhelming experience. Poor service and weak entrees. – -So I took a good friend out on a first date after reviewing a good 45+ restaurants over an 11 hour period (I know that sounds excessive but I'm paticular). -The ambience was great; nice seats, decor, linen, etc. Nothing to complain about there...other than the paper menu's, maybe I'm picky. -The service was poor, maybe better put as unproffesional, poorly trained, or unexperienced. We could tell from the beginning that the service would rank with a restaurant l... read more

Overrated – Little imagination for this class of dinning. Dishes are either overpowering or tasteless. The side dishes are the mostly the same for all meals. Best part of dinning is the platting. Seattle has much better choices.

One of the best meals I have ever had! – My husband I had dinner at Addison on Thanksgiving, 2007. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was impeccable. The bar tenders where outgoing and very friendly. Once we were seated, we on the chef?s five-course tasting menu with wine pairings. The portions are modest but you are enjoying five courses (plus all the bread you?d ever want)! Obviously the reviewer who noted the portion size and pricing isn?t familiar with fine dining (perhaps they should try Cheesecake Factory... read more

Good food, but not if you have anywhere to go afterwards! – Excellent service, wonderful menu and I love the specials. I went here for a holiday and thought I had falled in love. It was quite, romantic and in a great location. The problem arised when I got home! I don't think I have ever gotten so sick and as a result, I don't think I will ever go back. My date and I were both very ill and therefore I do believe it was something to do with the food. I would recommend it, but make sure you get something cooked and keep your f... read more

fat america – the person that made the last comments is probably over weight or or cant afford to eat at the addison ( fine dinning restaurants usually get bad comments in when cheap people get the bill)....food is not about quantity, its about quality....next time go to the olive garden or a Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet. the addison was incredible....the food, wine and serves was outstanding. specially the wine list. the sommelier has some great choices from around the world. i will definitely return
