I learned of Laura and Architecture Tours LA while a friend was visiting from Paris last summer. We went on the Hollywood tour and had an amazing experience. Laura’s knowledge of architecture, architectural history and the history of Los Angeles is unmatched. The tour was relaxed, informative and conversational in nature. Our guided tour of Silverlake modern architecture led by author Laura Massimo Smith, owner of Architecture Tours L.A., was a highlight of our LA visit and the best tour of LA I've ever been on. (I have been on a lot). Like a good friend who is funny, knowledgeable and loves architecture, she shared a ton of information in a clear, engaging way. We can't wait to book another tour with Laura on our next visit to LA.
The Hollywood Tour by Architecture Tours L.A. was incredible! An architectural historian and author who has been featured in magazines and on TV, our guide Laura was full of fascinating history about Hollywood, its architecture, the evolution of the city into an entertainment powerhouse, and more! Ann Arbor friends have heard us rave about Laura's fabulous Silver Lake tour & wanted contact info. When I looked up her website, I realized I failed to review our Feb 2025 tour. We belong to a MCM group in Cincy and go out of our way to see modern architecture whenever we travel. DIY is often the only choice but in LA, you get her experience & relationships with owners. Nice mix of riding with a bit of walking.
