Apartments that are cheap! We just recently m,oved out of these apartments but they are nice inside and the rent is reasonable around $700 a month for a 1 bedroom. They are bad when it comes to maintnance but have a great workout room that is open 24 hours. The office is nice and the staff is Okay. The complex seems to be getting a bit rundown though and a lot of section 8 apartments are given here.
MS This apartments are worst that 1970 trailers, nothing inside work. Carpets are old, stained, stinky, lose and fill with dust because they do not have any kind of insulation between the concrete and the carpet. Doors, screens, etc. are outside the apartments because they are potential weapons inside units, since they are falling apart or hanging just by rusted-nails. drains do not work, toilets overflow, tubs and bathroom walls have molds, air/heater system do not work properly, winter-temperatures are inside as outside, e... read more
DO NOT RENT HERE I lived at The Ardea for two years. The unit I lived in was very pricey and had nice views. It also had pests from the river nearby and bedbugs. The concierge is often AWOL, leaving residents and visitors without services or access at times. The management is unfriendly and hostile to any feedback they don't like. The common areas esp on the garage levels are dirty and in need of repair. Don't let this shiny gem fool you: It isn't a diamond. It is a CZ. I highly recommend against renting here and I am thrill... read more
The Ardea is okay. inside finishes very nice. convenient, close to streetcar, tram. however, not very social or sense of neighborhood for couple in 30s. problems with leasing office.
Nice Units, Horrible Management - AVOID These units are lovely, with nice views and good soundproofing. When we moved in, The Ardea was expertly managed by local company Gerding Edlen. We moved in here because of the location and the safety/quality factors. However, this year, mega-corporation Riverstone Residential has taken over and the building has become miserable. 1. Elevator repairs are not conducted. When the keypad to the elevator failed, Riverstone chose to not fix it, due to the price tag. Even if it's just a malfu... read more
High-quality interiors with many amenities Very high quality interiors. The wood floors are amazing and the kitchen is beautiful. Not a huge fan of the carpets in the bedrooms, but I can understand why they went that route. The bathrooms are very white, although we love the walk in shower. The gym is nice, although it seems a touch small; it's never very crowded though. The concierges are great and most of the time available to help. I LOVE the community room and love the fact that there are guest units available for family ... read more
Be Careful! My wife and I stayed at the Ardea for a little over 3 years and we enjoyed our stay while we were there. The condo was very nice, maintenance issues were fixed reasonably quick, other residents were pretty friendly and the Concierge service was a nice service that they provided (it was a bit spotty at time but that wasn't a big deal). On the whole it was pretty good place to call home. The problems started when we decided to move out. The Ardea management does not operate in good faith, so be very careful when yo... read more
Part of a great coop system This is one of the branch locations of the coop preschool based at South Seattle Community College. There are a number of them in various west Seattle locations. It is a great preschool. Since it is coop, you do work at the preschool. There is a preschool teacher, parent educator and parenting seminars (which I think are the very best part!) It is fairly low cost - I think we paid $55 a month for 2 mornings a week. You do need to be available once a week to work your shift at the preschool. I real... read more
I'll never live there again! Management here at Arbor Heights is so unprofessional and unhelpful. Their turnover is horrible--new staff at least every 6 months. This means not everyone is on the same page. We learned this after calling about an issue one day, then calling back the next to clarify, etc, talking to someone else, and getting a COMPLETELY different story. We have had to triple check EVERYTHING. Every charge on our bill (especially while moving out) because they tried to charge us twice for all of our final utili... read more
